Method
- Preheat a non-stick or stainless steel pan over high heat until very hot.
- Remove tuna steaks from the marinade and pat lightly with paper towels to prevent excess splatter.
- Sear the tuna for 2 minutes per side. This creates a golden crust while keeping the inside rare and tender.
- Remove from the pan and let rest for 1–2 minutes.
- Slice thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.

The key is not to overcook. Ahi tuna is best enjoyed rare to medium-rare. Cooking too long will dry it out.
